New release: updates in Payment modules, automation tasks, API & more!

The new HostBill update introduces several enhancements across API functionality, admin insights, payment integrations, and provisioning logic, all designed to streamline your workflows and improve operational efficiency.

Release notes

In this release we’ve expanded automation capabilities. A new custom automation task type, “Trigger Webhook,” allows you to send data to external systems directly from HostBill automation workflows. This opens up new possibilities for integrating with third-party services and building event-driven processes. Complementing this, a new Product Custom Automation event has been added to the Webhooks system, enabling more granular and flexible automation tied specifically to product-level actions.

From an administrative perspective, we’ve introduced a new overview that shows how clients signed up and what login methods they have used most recently. This feature provides valuable insight into user behavior and authentication patterns, helping you better understand how customers interact with your platform.

One of the key areas of improvement is the API. We’ve added new methods, getDomainLogs and getAccountLogs, which provide direct access to detailed logs for domains and client accounts. This makes it significantly easier to audit activity, troubleshoot issues, and build custom monitoring or reporting tools. Additionally, we’ve introduced draft support in the addTicketReply call, allowing replies to be saved as drafts before being published. This is especially useful for teams that rely on internal review processes or staged communication with clients.

Several updates have also been made to payment gateway integrations. The Braintree Token module has been updated with a newer underlying library and improved SSL certificate handling, ensuring better security and reliability. In GoCardless, a new configuration option allows invoices to be marked as “Processing” immediately upon submission, giving you more control over payment states. For Stripe.com users, we’ve added support for Stripe Checkout v2 to pass customer tax-exempt status, helping ensure more accurate billing and compliance.

The Cloud Signup plugin has been improved to store source information in the database after client signup and login. This enhancement enables better tracking of user acquisition channels and provides valuable data for analytics and marketing optimization.

We’ve also addressed improvements in SSL automation and provisioning. An issue in the SSL Automation Helper that caused multiple certificate installation tasks to be added to the queue has been fixed, resulting in cleaner and more efficient task handling.

Script Provisioning has been enhanced with support for renewal logic, allowing services to be managed more consistently throughout their lifecycle without requiring additional custom solutions.
