We’re excited to announce a powerful new addition to HostBill: OpenNebula integration, which allows to seamlessly resell cloud hosting services or individual VPS instances, providing flexible cloud solutions to your customers. Alongside this major release, we’ve also introduced a range of new features and enhancements across the platform!

OpenNebula module for HostBill

OpenNebula is an open-source platform that enables the creation and management of private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures. The OpenNebula module for HostBill enables service providers to sell a wide range of OpenNebula-based services, including traditional VPS hosting, flexible cloud instances, fixed-size packages, and fully metered cloud environments. With support for usage-based billing, providers can charge customers dynamically based on traffic, resource consumption, OS templates, additional IP addresses, and backup or storage usage — creating fully customizable and scalable offerings.

The integration ensures end-to-end automation of cloud account provisioning and lifecycle management. New accounts are automatically created and configured, with built-in workflows for suspension, unsuspension, termination, and on-demand upgrades or downgrades. Scheduled snapshots, automated backups, and detailed resource tracking ensure both operational continuity and billing accuracy.

In the client area, customers are given powerful self-service tools to fully manage their virtual machines. They can create, clone, or destroy VMs, access the console directly, perform power operations such as reboot and recovery, and scale their resources as needed. Clients can also manage IP addresses, storage volumes, network interfaces, SSH keys, firewall rules, security groups, and schedule automated backups. Real-time graphs provide visibility into CPU, memory, disk, and network usage, while access to logs and advanced settings allows for fine-grained control of each VM.

For administrators, the module provides a centralized interface to monitor client activity, control account lifecycles, and manage feature availability. It offers full insight into resource consumption across all accounts, enabling precise billing and easy troubleshooting. The OpenNebula module for HostBill delivers a robust, reliable, and developer-friendly platform for building a scalable cloud business with full automation from sales to service delivery.

This week’s HostBill release also introduces several usability and productivity enhancements. Admins now have greater control over support workflows with a new ACL option that allows restricting ticket views to only their own or all tickets, improving privacy and delegation in multi-admin environments. The Gandi.net domain module gains a time-saving feature: price imports from CSV files, simplifying bulk pricing updates. Our AI Prompter module now includes a convenient button to install sample prompts directly from the module description, making setup easier for new users. The sPanel integration has been extended with support for access control panel and SSO functions, streamlining client login experiences. Finally, the cPanel module now features a built-in Unblock tool along with translation support for widget descriptions, enhancing usability for international customers.
