HostBill 4.0.4 Preview: Language filters

HostBill team adds many features and improvements with every minor release (every week). Due to the fact HostBill is 100% multi-lingual it was sometimes hard to keep up with translations. It’s about to be changed with a new feature – language filters. With just one mouse click you can find all untranslated lines in your language, and their English versions – so within minutes after upgrade you can be sure that new features for your clients will be displayed in their native language.

New HostBill release has just been a couple of hours ago, as usual we’re bringing new improvements to your billing platform. To make HostBill everyday usage easier we’ve re-designed Smart Search and narrowed its results to the most useful ones. HostBill 3.9.6 Preview: Dynamic attachment uploads

Your clients will love improvement scheduled for 3.9.6 release (2012-09-28) – dynamic attachment uploads for support tickets. Just drag & drop files into upload area or choose them manually and you’re there – no more hours of waiting after ticket submit for attachments to upload. Let them load once message is being composed!

Feature Overview: Order Scenarios

With recent release of HostBill we’ve completely re-designed order process in HostBill. It was scheduled for a long time and as some of our cusomers demanded it – we’ve decided to give it a go, and boy we’re glad we did!

We called this feature Order Scenarios.

Each orderpage (also known as product category) in HostBill can have different Order Scenario attached.
Order Scenarios define what steps should HostBill take after client submits the order. Following are default steps:

1. Automated Fraud Prevention – if third party fraud prevention module is enabled (like MaxMind MinFraud) HostBill can verify whether order was fraudulent, and if so it can automatically rule out such order and prevent account from being provisioned
2. Enable Invoice – You can choose to approve this step manually – if invoice is enabled it’s visible in client area and allowed to pay – for some expensive services you may want to review order at this early stage before processing it.
3. Authorize Payment – If order was submitted with credit card HostBill can automatically authorize payment before capturing it. You can also choose to authorize it manually – this way you will be 100% sure if credit card submitted is valid and with enough funds. Not only credit cards can be authorized with HostBill – you can even verify buyer PayPal to see if it’s valid!
4. Capture Payment – Order good so far? Time to collect money – you can choose to do it manually or automatically by HostBill.
5. Provision Order items – Time to create ordered hosting accounts – HostBill can do this automatically after receiving payment, just like it always did. You can also set this step to be manual and review order once again, just to be 100% sure!
6. Final order review – Account was created, but your fraud verification is delayed? You surely don’t want valid customers to wait! Provision their account automatically first and review order once it’s provisioned to finally mark order as active – this step is optional.

Assign Ticket & External Ticket Addon

Feature Overview

Assign Ticket & External Ticket Addon allows to assign tickets for staff outside any department. Add-on is responsible for creating new profile to view & access certain ticket.

Backstory

We hired new developer to make HostBill integration with current website.

We were in need to supply him with ticket ID so he can work close with the client. We do not want anyone new enter our main billing system so we created this addon that sends him email with following content:

Hello

You have been assigned to ticket at HostBill System

Ticket [#6741ee] – Import from CVS

Log in here: http://hostbillapp.com/clientarea/superadmin/
Username: TestUser
Password: ErwEERRR

Developer can now work with client on this ticket, and ONLY on this ticket.

Download & Install

1. Download file from HostBill
2. Copy zip archive into HostBill directory: /includes/modules/Other
3. Extract all files

4. Activate in HostBill

Next version preview pt.1 – Ticket replies drafts

We’re not slowing down 😉 Next version will be delivered sooner than you expect – within 2-3 weeks, and of-course we got some amazing features coming up. Next HostBill version would be all about admin/support-collaboration. On a side of improved administrator privileges we will also introduce Ticket replies drafts feature – your reply will now automatically be stored for later use – so you can start typing reply to ticket, get more information and get back to replying later. Plus other support staff will also know that you’re replying, so no more double-replying of your fast support team;) Screenshot will say it all for you:

Next version preview pt.2 – Customizable client fields

With the release of the new version we will introduce new feature to HostBill – customizable client fields. During signup client will pick his profile type – Private profile or Company profile and as an administrator you’ll be able to configure which fields need to be displayed for each type of customer. You also will be able to set those fields as required or not and whether or not they should be displayed on client invoice. You will be able to define your own custom fields – lets say you operate in European Union and want your commercial customers to provide their VAT number during signup – nothing simpler with HostBill!
