A new update just landed in HostBill! This release brings the new powerful Pelican.dev game server integration as well as smarter localization, smoother admin workflows, enhanced e-invoicing controls, improved payment flexibility and more!

Pelican.dev module

Pelican is the ultimate game server control panel offering high security. HostBill integration enables hosting providers to fully automate the sale and lifecycle management of game servers directly from the HostBill platform, creating a seamless experience for both administrators and end customers.

On the billing side, the module allows providers to sell game server hosting with flexible, resource-based pricing. Services can be configured to charge customers based on allocated CPU, disk space, memory, and swap resources. Additional billable options include dedicated IP addresses and server location selection, allowing providers to build scalable and customizable hosting packages. This granular billing approach makes it possible to align pricing precisely with infrastructure usage and business strategy.

From an automation perspective, the integration handles the complete service lifecycle. When a client places an order, the module automatically creates the user account and provisions the game server within Pelican.dev. It also synchronizes service status changes, enabling automatic suspension, unsuspension, or termination based on billing events or administrative actions. This ensures that account management remains fully aligned with payment status and internal policies, reducing manual intervention and operational overhead.

For clients, the module enhances transparency and usability by displaying server access details directly within the HostBill client portal. In HostBill News administrators can now select exactly which languages a news item should be displayed in. This gives you full control over content visibility in multilingual environments. If you operate in multiple markets, you can now publish localized announcements without showing irrelevant content to other audiences. This improvement helps you maintain a clean, region-specific communication strategy while improving the client experience.

We’ve enhanced the Invoice and Estimate item editor in the admin area. The item description textarea now automatically resizes (autosize/grow), adapting dynamically to the amount of content entered. It is a small but powerful UI improvement that makes editing long descriptions significantly more convenient and eliminates unnecessary scrolling while improving workflow efficiency.

The DNS Management widget under the 2019 theme is now fully responsive. Clients managing DNS records from mobile devices or smaller screens will experience smoother interaction and better layout adaptation.

For businesses using the XML/UBL module, we’ve added the option to specify a BIC (Bank Identifier Code) for bank payment methods. This addition improves compatibility with banking standards and structured electronic invoicing requirements, particularly useful for companies operating within EU financial frameworks or Peppol environments.

For users of the eInvoices KSeF module, we’ve introduced an option to anonymize invoice details in test mode. This is especially helpful during development, staging, and compliance testing. You can safely validate integrations and workflows without exposing real customer data, improving privacy and regulatory alignment during the testing process.

We’ve added a brand-new Hetzner DNS module compatible with the updated Hetzner Cloud/Console API. This means continued compatibility with Hetzner’s latest infrastructure changes and provides reliable DNS automation using the current API framework. Providers using Hetzner can confidently manage DNS zones and records through a fully supported integration.

We’ve also enhanced the Payment Links feature. When the “Show just payment form” option is enabled, the Pay Now link can now properly function for logged-in customers as well, to ensure smoother payment flows without unexpected access limitations.
