The new HostBill release is now live, bringing exciting new features for Vies Vat plugin (new configuration options to re-verify vat number), new admin restrictions for Support PIN, new signup placeholder field for Registration Fields, changes in mobile notification templates and more!

Vies VAT EU

The VIES VAT EU plugin is a must-have for every EU business as it’s an extremly helpful tool that will allow you to check whether VAT number provided by the customer is valid based on European Commision tool VIES. If the number is valid the plugin can automatically switch-on tax exception for the customer and apply reverse-charge note to related invoices. Invalid VAT-id entries will be automatically removed and all VAT field or tax-except changes will be logged, enabling you to prevent customers from your country from getting tax-exception. Thanks to this module you can also auto-set local tax rate for B2C customers. New configuration option for the plugin enables to re-verify tax exempt status for EU clients during invoice generation or to periodically check VIES number for EU clients with tax-exempt. Additionally, you can choose re-verification period – the amount of days since last time customer VIES number was verified and re-verify limit – maximum number of client to verify in a single cron run.

Support PIN

Support PIN module was created to simplify the process of providing phone support. To enable easy client verification during phone support, with Support PIN module you can let your customers to generate time-limited support PIN numbers in their client area. New option allows to block staff members without new ACLs to access customer profile or related items without providing valid support PIN.

Registration fields – placeholder

Registration Fields section allows you to define information that is required upon client signup and that is stored in client profile.  Here you can define and edit the forms that will be available on sign-up / profile edit. Today, we added a simple placeholder field – an empty field with no name nor description, that can be used to improve readability and can help to arrange other fields in a chosen manner. The signup field placeholder is supported by 2019 Theme, Cloudy Theme, Design11, Y-Server Theme, Modern Panel and FlatUi.

Message Templates

HostBill offers a wide range of mobile notification templates that are divided into two sections: Client and Admin. Templates can be easily edited and modified by admins. Now it is also possible to select which mobile app connection given message template should be sent with. Thanks to the feature various type of messages (two factor authentication, invoice reminders etc) can be sent from various numbers.

This release also introduces changes to PayNow payment gateway, Inventory Manager, Openstack, DCIManager6 and more – all listed in the Changelog.
