It’s late here, the release date is tomorrow, and weʼre doing some final polishing on the next version of HostBill. Iʼve decided to check what can be done with the HostBill add-ons system in just 40 minutes. The results of my work will be added into the upcoming release. Clients Online is a really simple yet handy add-on that will show you which of your clients are currently logged-in. It integrates itself into the admin homepage, so you will have at-a glance information about your clients’ activity.

Its around one week until next HostBill will be released, and because of this we’ve decided to show you something special – new free HostBill addon which will be included with next version – PayPal Balance Addon. This simple addon gives you at a glance information about your current PayPal balance. But the best part about it is its simplycity – no need to edit any file!

See how you will be able to start using this (and many other addons):

1. You will visit addon management section, and hit “Activate” next to this addon

2. Fill in your API data, and hit Save Changes

With release of new version we will introduce new feature to HostBill – customizable client fields. During signup client will pick his profile type – Private profile or Company profile – as an administrator you’ll be able to configure which fields need to be displayed for each type of customer, you also will be able to set those fields required or not, to be displayed on client invoice or not. You will be able to define your own custom fields – lets say you operate in European Union and wants your commercial customers to provide their VAT number during signup – nothing simplier with HostBill! We’re working hard here on new version, and thanks to your requests HostBill’s built-in livechat would have ability to add it to your existing website, outside HostBill! All you need to do is copy code, add it to your website head tags and your clients can enjoy live support!

We’re happy to announce that version 1.0.4 is finished and available for download from our client area. VPS is future of hosting, thats why in this release we put much pressure on making HostBill works well for VPS hosting providers. By using HostBill and its integrated VPS modules your clients dont need to log-in into third-party software in most cases, they can use your site [with integrated HostBill] to manage their vps and keep track of its details [memory, disk space, assigned ips etc].

In this short tutorial we will show you how to fast integrate your HostBill installation’s template to match your website’s look and feel. No advanced html/css skills needed – just some copy/paste and we’re done!

Tools needed:

• text editor (anything will do the job, best will be with syntax coloring – like free notepad ++ for windows)
• FTP client
• Firefox + FireBug plugin can be helpful for finding bugs
• small coffee
