New: Major Inventory Manager enhancements, new Invoice & MFA settings and more!
This release introduces new security controls, enhanced billing flexibility, improved administrative tools, and major Inventory Manager upgrades. Highlights include additional MFA protection, faster staff permission management, advanced queue log filtering, more flexible metered billing options, and new asset ownership and maintenance tracking capabilities!
Release notes
In HostBill security remains a top priority, hence additional protection before MFA enrollment. A new option has been added to Security & Display Settings that allows administrators to require a one-time verification code before Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setup. This extra verification step helps ensure that only authorized users can enroll MFA on an account, adding another layer of protection against unauthorized access attempts and account takeover scenarios.
Managing invoice delivery preferences just became easier. We’ve added a new option in both Client and Group Billing Settings that allows administrators to override the global “Attach XML invoice” setting on a per-client or per-group basis. This enhancement provides greater flexibility when working with customers who have specific invoicing requirements, making it easier to comply with regional regulations or individual business preferences without affecting the entire installation.
We’ve streamlined staff permission management by introducing a “Toggle All” checkbox in two frequently used areas: Accessible For selectors in module configuration and Admin Access selectors in configuration fields. Administrators can now quickly grant or revoke access for all staff members with a single click, significantly reducing setup time when managing permissions across larger teams.
Monitoring and troubleshooting background jobs is now more efficient. Queue logs can now be filtered by the info or error messages returned by individual jobs, making it much easier to locate specific execution results, investigate issues, and identify recurring patterns without manually reviewing large volumes of log entries. For busy installations processing numerous automated tasks, this enhancement can save valuable administrative time.
For users leveraging Manage2 and metered billing, we’ve added a new option for stairstep metered schemes that allows administrators to define per-account usage on the final usage tier. This provides additional flexibility when designing custom billing models and enables more precise handling of high-volume usage scenarios.
Inventory Manager Enhancements
The latest update significantly expands the capabilities of Inventory Manager, introducing several powerful asset lifecycle management features.
Item Ownership Tracking – keep better control over your assets with dedicated ownership assignment, helping teams clearly identify responsibility and accountability for inventory items.
Recurring Maintenance Management – Inventory Manager now supports recurring maintenance schedules, including: Maintenance statuses, Internal notes, Document attachments, Automated cron-based notifications. These additions make it easier to track maintenance activities, ensure compliance with service schedules, and maintain complete asset histories.
New “Link” Field Type – A new Link field type has been added for inventory items, allowing administrators to associate external resources, documentation, vendor pages, support portals, or other relevant references directly with an asset record. This provides quicker access to critical information and improves overall asset documentation.
