New: use Passkey Authentication for secure & passwordless login and MFA !

This week we are introducing a new Passkey Authentication module which provides a secure and passwordless login and MFA using passkeys, along with a new set of improvements across HostBill, including a range of new features for Colocation Manager, internal ticket reply functionality and more!

Passkey Authentication module

The Passkey Authentication module adds modern, phishing-resistant authentication to both the Client Area and Admin Area. It allows users to securely access their accounts using passkeys supported by YubiKey devices, Apple Keychain, password managers, Chrome, Windows Hello, and other WebAuthn-compatible authenticators. The module can work as an additional MFA security layer for existing accounts, but it also supports fully passwordless authentication. Users can log in directly from the login page by selecting a previously registered passkey, allowing immediate and secure access without entering a password. This provides a faster and more convenient login experience while significantly improving account security. Each client or administrator account can store multiple passkeys, making it possible to use different authenticators across devices and platforms. Users can easily register and manage their passkeys from within their account settings, ensuring flexible and reliable access to their accounts at all times.

Colocation Manager – new features

This update also introduces a large set of enhancements for the Colocation Manager module. We added support for additional cable terminations, expanding connection management possibilities in more complex rack and infrastructure environments. Quick Manage now includes a new filter button that allows administrators to quickly narrow displayed items by type or category, making navigation significantly easier in larger deployments.

Cable type color management features have also been introduced, improving visual organization and helping teams identify cable types more efficiently within rack layouts and connection maps. Administrators can now also change the rack item type from its default value when needed, providing more flexibility during infrastructure management and deployment adjustments.

Another important addition allows administrators to select a specific inventory entity directly during connection creation, giving more precise control over infrastructure relationships and assignments. We also improved deletion safeguards within Colocation Manager. When deleting an item category or item type, administrators must now explicitly select the delete option before the action can proceed, reducing the risk of accidental removals.

Other updates

One of the most useful additions for support teams is the new internal ticket reply functionality. Administrators can now add replies to tickets that remain completely invisible to clients and are only visible to other staff members. Internal replies can be used as private notes, troubleshooting updates, escalation comments, or coordination messages between team members without affecting client communication. Notifications for these replies are also limited to administrators only. In addition, any existing ticket reply can now be marked or unmarked as internal directly from the admin interface, giving teams more flexibility when organizing ticket conversations.

For API users, we added a new mergeTickets endpoint that allows multiple tickets to be merged into a single ticket programmatically. This helps automate ticket management workflows and simplifies integrations with external support systems and custom automation tools.

Another usability improvement has been added to product management. Administrators can now configure product direct links opened via client functions to launch in a new browser window, providing greater flexibility for integrations and external service access.

We also improved billing security behavior by updating the card ban verification logic. Failed card checks are now evaluated only based on failures from the last three months, making the system more accurate and preventing outdated payment history from unnecessarily affecting legitimate transactions.

Telegram Bot Notifications have also been enhanced with the ability to configure a default bot button directly in App Connections. This makes it easier to create more consistent notification flows and simplify user interactions within Telegram integrations.
